Watercolor Daydream

So long and thanks for all the fish! So sad that it should come to this.

The title has absolutely nothing to do with the blog post I am about to write, but that song is currently stuck in my head. When my mom was pregnant with me she read that book and I honestly think it had a lot to do with my development. I’m not yet sure if that’s a good or bad thing.

Aaaaanywayzzzz. I am really, really craving sparkles, sequins, and lots and lots of metallics in my wardrobe right now. There’s something about the holiday season that makes me go, “SPARKLES AND SEQUINS BEBEBEBEBEBEBABY”. Like I absolutely cannot get enough of the shiny stuff! It may have something to do with the mass amount of LED Christmas lights  that start to pop up all over the city and my room around now.

I went down to University Village a bit earlier and because it gets dark at like 3PM, the Christmas-y lights were on around every building and I felt like I was in some Holiday Movie. It was greaaaat. On my way home the whole area was engulfed in fog in 10 seconds flat. Then I felt like I was in a horror film. Even better.

Completely love these super shiny sequin tops from Topshop. For normality’s sake I imagine it paired with the High Waist Jeans, but if you like to skip  normal I’d totally wear one of the sequin tops with the sequin jacket and ~crazy~ sequin hotpants.

Isn’t the texture on this Antonio Marras lace sequin skirt just beautiful?! I’m not a huge fan of the skirt itself but I love the lace and barely-visible sequins paired together. If it were a little below or above the knee and didn’t have a huge slit down the side I’d be completely in love. Also, this dress (by Amaya Arzuaga, does anybody know who this is?) is pretty cute; I’d want to wear it with a white, sequined long-sleeve shirt—if that even exists—to go with the cute, adolescence feel I get from it. I usually hate rosettes (is that what they’re called?) but I don’t mind them here.

And to end this entry on a slightly less colorful note, I really like these dresses! By Antonio Marras and Ermanno Scervino respectively. Love the vintage-y look of both of them. I’d totally wear the first one to the ballet if I could afford to shell out $2,290.00 on a cute black dress.

  1. I think its the holiday seasons that makes a girl want to get all glamored up with sparkleys. I’ve been craving those crystal staples so I can make my blazers all cute. Nice post girly, I love it!

    • Ohh crystal staples would be so much fun! I wish I had the patience to buy a bunch of sequins and just go crazy with my clothes.
