We are the nation. Of domination. Ohhhhh, not really. But cool hair.

My birthday is coming up soon (the 21st, just in case you were curious) and this is probably the first time I’ve been this uninterested in “my special day”.

Is it just me or is 19 one of the most boring ages to turn? It’s like 17. You’ve just turned 16 and it’s like, “Woo, yay! 16! I can drive!” but the next year nothing special happens. Then you turn 18 and it’s, “I’m an adult! Oh no! Responsibilities! But wait, I still live with my mom. No worries!” After that there’s 19. Which, to me, is pretty much, “Congrats. You’re a year away from 20. Whoop-di-doo.”

I want to do something cool to make this birthday interesting, but I abhor having a winter birthday. Especially one in a city where the weather forecast predicts rain for the entire week until Christmas. I was considering dying my hair a pale, pastel pink a la Marie Antoinette back in October but didn’t have the guts. I kind of want that kind of extreme change, but because I have very dark hair I’m terrified of ruining it with bleach.

Having hair that makes you look like you just stepped out of a cartoon looks like so much fuuuuuuuuuuuuun. But I like being nooooormallllllll. Whiiiine.

So long and thanks for all the fish! So sad that it should come to this.

The title has absolutely nothing to do with the blog post I am about to write, but that song is currently stuck in my head. When my mom was pregnant with me she read that book and I honestly think it had a lot to do with my development. I’m not yet sure if that’s a good or bad thing.

Aaaaanywayzzzz. I am really, really craving sparkles, sequins, and lots and lots of metallics in my wardrobe right now. There’s something about the holiday season that makes me go, “SPARKLES AND SEQUINS BEBEBEBEBEBEBABY”. Like I absolutely cannot get enough of the shiny stuff! It may have something to do with the mass amount of LED Christmas lights  that start to pop up all over the city and my room around now.

I went down to University Village a bit earlier and because it gets dark at like 3PM, the Christmas-y lights were on around every building and I felt like I was in some Holiday Movie. It was greaaaat. On my way home the whole area was engulfed in fog in 10 seconds flat. Then I felt like I was in a horror film. Even better.

Completely love these super shiny sequin tops from Topshop. For normality’s sake I imagine it paired with the High Waist Jeans, but if you like to skip  normal I’d totally wear one of the sequin tops with the sequin jacket and ~crazy~ sequin hotpants.

Isn’t the texture on this Antonio Marras lace sequin skirt just beautiful?! I’m not a huge fan of the skirt itself but I love the lace and barely-visible sequins paired together. If it were a little below or above the knee and didn’t have a huge slit down the side I’d be completely in love. Also, this dress (by Amaya Arzuaga, does anybody know who this is?) is pretty cute; I’d want to wear it with a white, sequined long-sleeve shirt—if that even exists—to go with the cute, adolescence feel I get from it. I usually hate rosettes (is that what they’re called?) but I don’t mind them here.

And to end this entry on a slightly less colorful note, I really like these dresses! By Antonio Marras and Ermanno Scervino respectively. Love the vintage-y look of both of them. I’d totally wear the first one to the ballet if I could afford to shell out $2,290.00 on a cute black dress.

“I’m usually very miserable, so I reward myself with a fur coat every year.”

What a perfect plan. A fur coat for surviving a year. I think I may have to start doing that. I hope she got herself one early this year. RIP, Daul Kim. You were lovely. Read the rest of this entry »

If you were to ask me what my idea of a perfect coat was, I’d say, “huge and warm!” Or a pea coat. But huge and warm is best. I’ve been lusting after these since I saw them on the runway. The oversized everything, the print on the first one, and the length, all perfect in my world.

Shiny dresses~!

No wings and you can’t see my tiara, but hay! My shiny dress makes up for it. Old dress I got last year by Forever21’s Twelve by Twelve brand. What did everybody else dress up as?

These two collections pretty much sum up everything I’ve been liking for a while now. They are similar in colors: pastel blues and pinks, and lovely shades of lemon; but different as well. I am almost confused as to why I like these collections so much! Read the rest of this entry »

Christopher Kane for Topshop

You know, I really hate being broke. Like the real kind of broke. Not the “oh I think I’ll splurge now and worry later tehe” broke. The kind where I really have $0! And I’m not going to go out and buy stuff with a credit card with no money. So needless to say… Boooo!

Can you guess my favorite? Definitely the lime Gem Bustcup Dress. I also love the crocodile print; if there’s anything I love just as much as light creams and pastels, it’s crazy prints. I wonder where I could get custom printed clothes or fabrics…
